Proposals for building the bridge are currently on hold while considerations are given to the effect on the environment of this bridge which will make access between Kent and Essex much easier.  The proposed bridge would be built between the Blackwall tunnel and Dartford.

Objections surround a possible increase in the 'carbon footprint' that could arise from increasing volumes of traffic.

Tendering

The Thames Gateway Business Club is a collection of dedicated and professional individuals whose vision and passion combine to deliver the necessary business advice and expertise to enable them to engage in successful tendering as an individual or as part of a consortium bid for private and public sector contracts.

All our services are characterized by an emphasis on delivery, a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, robust planning and management processes, professionalism, and member focus.

Providing both strategic and hands on services to our members and drawing on our multidisciplinary skill base, we bring together specialists who provide a first class tailored service to meet our members' needs.  Our experience and expertise enable us to deliver a cost effective package that not only provides our members with an exceptional service but also seeks to build long-term relationships with both our clients and the buyers whom we serve.

The Thames Gateway Business Club will represent and support you right to the finish line.  Our expert team offers assistance and guidance in everything from planning and preparation to project management and delivery.
Thames Gateway Business Club will identify the tenders that match your service, trawling both public and commercial sectors.

We'll prepare and submit an invitation and advise you on your proposals, as well as the PQQ (pre-qualification questionnaire).

But we don't stop there; we're also on hand to advise on pricing, specifications, suppliers and contractors.  We'll help make sure you have the policies, procedures and paperwork that the public and commercial sectors demand.

While the public sector is keen to do business with small companies, make no mistake - winning a public sector contract isn't easy.

That's because any public sector organisation has to be sure that they are investing in the best possible supplier on behalf of the public.  Knowing where to look, thorough preparation and a well-presented application increases your chance of securing both a winning contract and business profitability.
thames Gateway Bridge Understanding procurement requirements is daunting
The Thames Gateway Business Club can Provide: -

  1. Notification of public sector, commercial tenders and contracts awarded notices announced every week, relating to your own business sector.
  2. Practical help and expert advice when you bid for tenders, e.g.: in planning, drafting, editing and producing your bid document.
  3. Help assembling a 'war chest', including your own stored and downloadable PQQ (Pre- Qualification Questionnaire), so you don't have to start from scratch for every new tender.
  4. A programme of business development and networking events, hear the latest best practice in writing bid documents and working the tender process.
  5. Referral and marketing expertises, as part of TGBC you'd benefit from promotional and marketing of your product or services at events focussed at the public and commercial sectors.

  • Employers' liability insurance certificate
  • Public liability insurance certificate

The public sector bodies are subject to the Freedom of Information Act, which makes most tender information available to the public (or your competitors) on request. If your tender contains information that is commercially sensitive, you can sometimes apply for an exemption from the Act to prevent it being disclosed. TGBC can help where it appears that this information does and would jeopardise your position within the marketplace.

In some cases, suppliers have to be qualified before they can submit a tender. This process, often referred to as a request for information, (RFI) might involve completing or supplying information about the company's financial status or previous experiences and again TGBC provides expert help and advice with the procedures necessary to gain qualification.

TGBC provides a first-class service designed to provide members with all necessary documentation and support when meeting the assessment criteria: delivery, quality, proven reliability, experience and an ability to manage and reduce potential risks.

TGBC will help with relevant documentation when applying for tenders:
  • a covering letter explaining the key points of your bid
  • a summary of your experience, including any relevant customers or qualifications
  • a detailed description of the work you propose, showing how you will meet the key criteria
  • a proposed timetable for the work, including key milestones
  • proof of your team's skills and experience
  • details of pricing and any after-sales support you would offer
  • explanation of how potential problems and risk will be managed
Advisers are also present to help you put processes into place that meet the public sector's procurement standards.
