The Thames Gateway Business Club TGBC - A Route to Market

The Thames Gateway Business Club was formed by a unique blend of enthusiastic business professionals in the catchment area of the Thames Gateway Regeneration project.  Founders are determined to provide a platform for a dialogue with government and its agencies to improve and promote more local business opportunities for the benefit of members and the community residing within the proposed regeneration area in the Thames basin.

Focus

The Thames Gateway Business Club aims are to provide business with up to date information on ALL relevent information about progress/contracts within the Thames Gateway region, both public and private.  It is within our remit to tender consortium bids for the benefit of our members collaborating together on public contracts.

The club is FREE to join, although meetings and events are chargeable to cover operational costs.  News updates and event information will be accessible through our website.

GOVERNMENT UPDATE THAMES GATEWAY

...and read Mr Ed Milibank's comments below:
Government update Thames Gateway: Minister Launches TGLP's (Thames Gateway London Partnership) Third Sector Reports: Ed Miliband, Minister for the Third Sector launched two third sector reports at the Museum in the Docklands on 20th November 2006.

Speaking on the launch Ed Miliband said:

"This report represents an invaluable insight into the potential of the third sector. It highlights the massive opportunities for sectors working together but also the real challenges on the ground in ensuring the people of East London can receive the very best public services. The government is already addressing some of the main recommendations in our Social Enterprise Action Plan and in our forthcoming Action Plan on Third Sector Service Delivery. I look forward to seeing the results of the joint working between the public, private and third sectors over the coming years as, together, we build and regenerate the Gateway."

In this initiative there is a determined effort by Central Government and Local Councils in wishing to implement an agreed policy of preferentially offering work on these projects to companies located in the Thames Gateway - with a requirement minimum of 25% - in order that ongoing sustainability will occur.

So, it's up to business in east London, Kent and Essex to challenge and gain as much of these Government funds as possible, and prevent companies from outside the area plundering our good fortune.

Many Massive Construction Projects are Planned which in turn will generate much needed work for small companies.  A great deal of public work will be required.

Is your company up to date with the ongoing legislation and fully understands the required public procurement requirements and selection process?

We have members in our group who can help.

We welcome visitors from any networking groups (any discipline)to attend our meetings and join our group.

Companies trading in the footprint of the Gateway project need to act now (and collectively) so our voice will be heard to focus project funding, as is intended by government, to the advantage of local business and communities.

Help us to help ourselves!
